About This Site
How ErrBase Works
ErrBase is an independent appliance repair database. We research error codes, verify diagnostic procedures against OEM service manuals, and publish plain-English repair guides for homeowners.
Our Editorial Standards
Every error code article on ErrBase is built from three primary sources: the manufacturer's official service manual, verified repair data from licensed technicians, and documented repair outcomes from appliance owner communities. We do not publish a repair procedure unless we can trace it back to at least two independent sources.
All multimeter readings, OEM part numbers, and resistance specifications are cross-referenced against the brand's own technical documentation before publication. Repair success rates are derived from aggregated service data, not estimates.
Who This Is For
ErrBase is written for homeowners with basic mechanical confidence. You do not need to be a technician to follow our guides. We explain what each component does, why it fails, and how to test it with common tools. Where a repair genuinely requires a licensed professional, we say so clearly.
Every guide includes a safety warning section. We take no shortcuts around electrical safety. Unplug your appliance before you open it.
Our Coverage
We currently cover error codes for Bosch, Maytag, LG, Whirlpool, Samsung, and GE appliances across dishwashers, front-load and top-load washing machines, dryers, and refrigerators. We are actively expanding into HVAC, water heaters, and robot vacuums.
Parts Links and Affiliate Disclosure
ErrBase links to RepairClinic and AppliancePartsPros for OEM replacement parts. These are affiliate links, meaning we may earn a small commission if you purchase through them at no extra cost to you. We only link to OEM parts and do not accept payment to recommend specific products. Our editorial content is never influenced by commercial relationships.
Last Verified Dates
Each article displays a "Last Verified" date. This reflects when the technical content was last reviewed against current service documentation. Repair procedures for discontinued models are maintained as long as the parts remain available and the repair remains viable.
