LEAKING
Water is escaping from somewhere in the disposal's plumbing path. The three distinct leak zones, the top flange, the side connections, and the bottom motor vents, each point to a different failed component, which is why pinpointing the exact source before you touch anything is so important.

NOT-WORKING
The disposal's either jammed, tripped its thermal overload, or lost power entirely. When the flywheel locks up from a bone or utensil, the motor tries to spin, overheats, and cuts itself off to prevent burnout. That's the humming you hear. A dead-silent unit usually means the overload already tripped or there's no power getting to the motor at all.
